On Friday the 23rd of August, Combat Americas touched down at Lake Tahoe California for an action packed card. Combates tagline is ‘MUCHA MÁS ACCIÓN’ – which literally translates from Spanish to ‘Much more action’ and the whole card delivered big-time on the promise as Bruno Cannetti won a tough decision over Andreas Quintana to claim the belt, it was an exhilarating clash from the first bell to the last as the pair engaged in a war of attrition.
Further down the card, rising Combate star Gustavo Lopez knocked Joey Requet unconscious in just the very first round. Lopez now improves to (11-4) in his pro career and left Tahoe wielding Combates’ 135lb belt. In the co-main of the evening Jose Luis Verdugo got into an absolute slug-fest with Erick Sanchez and Verdugo left as the victor.
But, the real stand-out performance of the night was when Tito Ortiz & ‘The Pride Of Mexico’ – Alberto Del Rio faced-off in the cage in preparation for their upcoming TBD fight. Check it out below:
