In a rather Gross news story. It has merged that Kelvin Gastelum may have a Staph infection, with a little bit of ringworm sprinkled in for good measure. It’s weird situation because if he fights Whittaker he’ll likely spread it from skin to skin contact with Bobby Knuckles (Unless Whittaker smokes him in under 30 seconds).  I’m not even sure if the athletic commission will allow him to compete with it or how much it could affect his weight cut or fighting ability.

The last time we saw Ringworm affect a fighter was Paige VanZant in October 2018. As for Staph you may remember it became famous in the MMA circle from when Kevin Lee fought Tony Ferguson in 2017

Although it could all just be acne, it’s best to take a look and judge yourself.
